Geographically fulltime (GFT), Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician, Division of Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics


The Department of Pediatrics at Queen’s University invites applications to fill one Geographically fulltime (GFT) Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician position to join the Division of Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics. The division provides care for patients in Kingston and Southeastern and Northern Ontario and collaborates with multiple subspecialists in the department. The start date for this position is July 1 st , 2026.

The Department of Pediatrics at Queen’s University is a vibrant place for the delivery of outstanding clinical care, education, research, and advocacy for children and families. The clinical care is provided at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre, a tertiary academic center that serves the needs of communities in Southeastern and Northern Ontario. The department supports a strong Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)-accredited pediatric residency program. The position will be based at Kids Inclusive.

Kids Inclusive at Kingston Health Sciences Centre is one of 21 Children’s Treatment Centres in Ontario, providing rehabilitation and developmental services to children and youth with physical, neurological, and developmental conditions across Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington, and Lanark, Leeds & Grenville. The successful applicant must have demonstrated excellent skills in caring for children with Neurodevelopmental disorders. Preference will be given to applicants with experience or interest in Quality Improvement. Applicants need to have demonstrated the ability to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment through their letter of application and references.

They will provide clinical teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and provide regular feedback and mentorship to trainees. Research and scholarship experience are welcome, as research is a core value of the department. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert medical assessment and diagnostic services for children and youth with a range of developmental and behavioral concerns, including but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Genetic syndromes, and complex medical or physical disabilities.

  • Work closely within the Kids Inclusive interdisciplinary team, including occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, psychology, social work, and specialized clinics (e.g., CP Clinic, Feeding Clinic).

  • Participate in case conferencing and collaborative care planning with families, KHSC providers, and regional service partners (e.g., schools, primary care, community agencies).

  • Support transitions of care, including school entry and community integration.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and strategic planning within Kids Inclusive.

The successful candidate will hold an MD degree (or equivalent). Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Preference will be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification in Neurodevelopmental Pediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent qualifications. Fellowship or equivalent training in Developmental Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities is preferred.
