Seeking Locum General Pediatricians at McMaster Children’s Hospital


The Department of Pediatrics is seeking locum pediatricians to provide inpatient care within the Division of General Pediatrics, at McMaster Children’s Hospital for a 12-month period.

McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH), located in Hamilton, Ontario is affiliated with McMaster University which is an internationally recognized institution known for innovations in medical education and pioneering biomedical, epidemiological and health systems research. McMaster Children’s Hospital is one of Canada’s largest pediatric academic tertiary care teaching hospitals and acts as the regional pediatric referral centre for a population of more than 2.3 million in South-central Ontario. The hospital is operated by Hamilton Health Sciences and carries 150 acute care beds. As a citywide Department, our General Pediatrics team is also closely associated with St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.

Our consulting General Pediatricians manage children with a variety of general health concerns from birth to 18 years of age including acute and medically complex pediatric conditions and children with chronic complex medical illnesses. The service collaborates with other pediatric sub-specialists to coordinate care while fostering a philosophy of family-centred care.

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Pediatrics with experience in consulting pediatrics, and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
