Stand Up for Kids.
Stand Up for Canada.
The federal government has an important role to play establishing and advancing public policy solutions that advance child & youth healthcare and health systems.
In Canada today, there are nearly 7.9 million children between the ages of 0-19, representing 22.4% of the total population. Over 40% of Canada's Indigenous population are between 0 and 25 years of age. The number of children in Canada continues to grow.
Canada ranks 25th among the world’s 41 richest countries in overall child and youth wellbeing,a middle position that has persisted unchanged for more than a decade.
Polling conducted by Ipsos in May 2019 confirms that health / healthcare tops the list of personal concerns and concerns for the future of Canada. These concerns include timely access to appropriate mental health services and more affordable medications for Canadians. These are issues directly relevant to the health of children and youth in Canada.
The 2019 federal election is an opportunity to #StandUpforKids and advance policy priorities which will directly impact health services delivery and health outcomes for Canada’s children and youth.
