Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist

Responsibilities/Duties:

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, is seeking a pediatric infectious disease specialist at the clinical assistant/associate professor level to join a Section of 7 colleagues. The position is currently supported as 1.0 FTE with 50% clinical activity, 30% infection control, 10% research and 10% education. The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise across the full spectrum of pediatric infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Additional training and/or demonstrated clinical focus in Infection Prevention and Control is a decided asset. Other niche interests including infections in the immunocompromised host, infections in the premature infant and viral infections are also valued. The Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases works closely with colleagues in the Section of Pediatric Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation, Pediatric Immunology and Pediatric intensive Care. We are a regional bone marrow transplant center. The Department of Pediatrics has over 300 clinical and academic faculty members who are part of the rapidly growing Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary. Qualifications:

Qualifications include certification in Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent. The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.

Compensation:

Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
